The Gender Pay Gap data revealed that 8 out of 10 companies are paying men more than women with a third of businesses reporting a higher pay gap than the 18.4% national median. But what does this all mean? Is the data robust and, as Sam Smethers chief executive of the Fawcett Society stated, is “...a game changer.” Or does it obscure the real truth of what's going on and at it's worst create a sense of disenfranchisement that could prevent progress?
