Why there’s more to the BIMA Awards than pure digital

Enter this year’s BIMA Advance Awards for Talent and Inclusion & Diversity and get 20% off with Creativepool. When this year’s BIMA Awards ceremony takes place on 13 September we’ll be celebrating the best of British digital. But that doesn’t mean we’ll be confining ourselves purely to creative designers, data wranglers, emerging technology specialists and digital transformers.

They’ll all be present, of course, and we’re seeing some amazing entries in these technical categories. But we believe the digital sector should be setting the standard in more than a technical sense. Ours is a wonderfully diverse industry. It’s also one of those rare spaces in which people from any background, and with little or no digital grounding, can study hard, work harder and forge the sort of career that changes lives - as the career of one of this year’s BIMA Hall of Fame inductees, Dr Sue Black, demonstrates.

That’s why we believe it matters that the BIMA Awards should also celebrate the people and businesses doing more to foster diversity and inclusivity. And it’s why we believe we should also recognise the organisations that are investing in growing their talent pool, or finding imaginative ways to retain that talent. If you have your own story to tell about this, then we want to hear it.

The BIMA Advance Awards for Talent and Inclusion & Diversity are still open (just) and you’ve still got time to enter. Our Advance Awards will be judged by experts from Innovateher, Utopia, Brands with Values, R/GA, People of Creativity and more, and as a Creativepool member you can quote BIMAAWARDSDD to get 20% off. Find full category details here, and remember the final, final deadline for Advance Awards entries is 1 June. For more information contact rachel@bima.co.uk
