The essence of the 'Ace of Spades' was to try and give users a small taste of the real pirate life, from being the ships Captain and plotting your course to being a crew member and mutinying against your captain!
Via an exploration and plundering game, the aim was to educate users about the era and pirate life as well as key features of the game itself. Individual pirates earned gold for themselves and their ship as they visited the various ports. As well as games of skill and knowledge they encountered chance and gambling games where they could win or lose some of their stash!
The final game was designed for ships to challenge each other to a battle to the death on the high seas! Each shipmate must take 6 shots at their opponents ship, battling the wind and the roll of the seas, the highest scoring boat as a whole wins, takes the opponents booty and eliminates them from the game! Last ship standing wins!
