My name is Ben Nicholls and I would like to put myself forward for the position of Copy Writer. I believe I have a vast amount of writing experience that demonstrates why I am a suitable candidate for this position and would be a good addition to your team.

Most recently, I demonstrated my writing skills in my employment for The Packshot Company Limited who are contracted to work for Selfridges & Co. I worked as as a full-time copywriter, producing descriptive and informative copy for a wide of range of online Selfridges & Co products. I was successful in capturing the luxurious nature of these products through my writing and was efficient in tailoring my words to adhere to the necessary tone-of-voice. It was essential that all copy be aimed at the specific target audience, and I was able to achieve this without abandoning my distinctive use of creative and effective language. I was also consistant in achieving the targets set by Packshot for both the copy element and other product atributes including measurements and material composition.

I have also proven my efficiency in copy writing for commercial travel, gap year and festival magazines; The Luxuary Travel Guide, IGap Travel Guide and, IFestival. These are all publications by Fenice Media Ltd. I produced high-quality copy on a range of subjects within clearly defined parameters of style, formatting and deadlines. By utilising imaginative language that was also appropriate for the target audience, my articles illustrated the nature of the overall travel experience that awaited the reader in a vivid and evocative manner, encompassing the location, accommodation, accessible attractions and other features relevant to the holiday. It was also necessary for me to research each article I wrote, developing my ability to investigate the information available on the internet and retrieve the most salient elements for my use, for a variety of different articles.

I have also contributed world cinema film reviews, on a voluntary basis, to subtitledonline which is a world cinema website. This allowed me to express my passion for film and share it with others via considered, analytical writing that explored the merits and flaws of the films I was asked to watch.

The experience I have in crafting screenplays, comedy material and other pieces during my Higher National Diploma in Film Making Course and Film Studies Batchelor of Arts Degree, as well as material created during my free- time has helped me to bring a splash of colour and imagination to my articles that are needed to engage readers.
