About me

Dear Sir/Madam

My name is Ben Robinson and I am applying for positions in the field of copywriting, advertising, and journalism.

Since leaving school at the end of 2016, I have been writing as a freelance writer for a number of publications whilst working full-time for the first half of the year and now travelling for the second. My writings have been published in both digital and print, in areas such as music, travel, politics, and culture, as evident in my application. This year, I have also undertaken a work experience placement at the BBC offices in Manchester and a month-long internship at AnOther Magazine (part of the Dazed Group) in London.

I do not currently possess any formal tertiary qualifications as I believed that on-the-job experience would be more valuable to me than a degree, and my writings are the product of hard-work and feedback from my editors. I want to work in these fields because they will give me the opportunity to hone my writing skills in an creative environment. I would bring this passion and vigour to any company, as I believe that my experience will hold up and allow me to excel in this position.
