ABOUT

Concept:
Use a new branding pattern to create motion graphics for promotion on LinkedIn. The first video needed to boost online ticket sales, as in-person tickets were already selling well but virtual sign-ups were lagging. The second video aimed to remind participants of key moments while making those who missed the event feel they had truly missed out.

Execution:
I began by deconstructing a pattern I had previously created for the event’s branding. This allowed me to bring individual elements to life, rather than be limited by a complex overall design. I then created a storyboard and reviewed it with my client to ensure we were highlighting the right points with appropriate weight and hierarchy. Since the storyboard was built in Illustrator, it was a smooth process to export the assets and import them into After Effects. There, I refined the keyframes and motion graphs until each composition felt cohesive and dynamic. After sourcing and adding music, I built the second animation by duplicating the original After Effects project to maintain consistent timing and rhythm.

Results:
The first animation led to a noticeable boost in virtual sign-ups, successfully renewing interest in the online experience. The client liked it so much, they even played it on the big screens during the event’s third-day closing ceremony in front of several hundred attendees. The second video reinforced key highlights and generated FOMO among those who couldn’t attend. Together, both pieces strengthened the event’s brand presence on LinkedIn and turned passive interest into active engagement.
