We only win if we all win

Published by

Am loving the latest from @72andSunny Amsterdam and Axe (Lynx) Is it ok for guys... below.

Echoing the sentiments from Creative Equals - that we only win if if we all win. It's about re-examining and rethinking inherited expectations no matter what gender. We can't expect the world to move towards an equal playing field - for example in careers for women - unless we re-examine all stereotypes at every stage.

I have aways been proud of my work with Creative Equals but the uncomfortable truth remains that we are fixining a link part-way up a chain - when what we as a nation need to be doing is addressing the root cause. I believe that only by making the having, raising and caring for children an equal expectation and responsibility will societies expectations of gender roles also move. If there is an equal expectation that, should people chose (male or female) each will be active in equal parenting, we begin to even the balance. If there is no longer a stigma attached to being female, due to the possibility that you may wish to have children in the future, there will be more women making their way up the ranks, more girls seeing departments that have people that look like them, more creative minds remaining in the industry to inspire and inform the minds of today.

So, big up to @72andSunny Amsterdam and Axe. Let's start challenging the gender roles at each and every level to create a better, more creative future.
