ABOUT

How better to keep up with the Joneses? Our interactive map showcases the state of the market across the UK.

Positioning
Back in summer 2013, we were tasked with creating a digital support for a new annual magazine from Savills, the London Journal. With a limited timeframe and budget, we focused on delivering the distilled data in a simple interactive online map, presenting market insights for the prime property market in the capital in a compelling digital form. An overwhelming success from launch, we were soon tasked with expanding the map to feature all of Savills’ UK prime market data, across both sales and lettings.

Proposition
Whether looking to buy, sell, rent, let, expand a portfolio or get on the property ladder, anyone interested in UK property wants to know how the market is moving and how the future looks, both in their part of the country and nationwide. We knew that being able to compare and contrast was key to engagement, and that in order to be successful, we had to have usability front of mind.

Personality
The Savills brand balances heavyweight stature with charm, so we applied it to our designs to add personality without clouding the data. A no-fuss design approach ensured the map was as helpful and clear to use as possible.

Result
The most successful single entity ever on the Savills website, the prime property performance map has proved to be an excellent resource for their property agents and a way to keep the Savills audience up to date on all the latest market movements. With the property market rarely out of the headlines, it’s never been more relevant, as evidenced by the map being picked up by national newspaper websites. Already well known for their excellent research department, this project has helped to enhance their reputation as the go-to authority on the industry.

"It was fantastic to work with BEAR on this project, as they helped us visualise how to bring the data alive and how to provide an engaging user-experience. They stayed true to the UX throughout and helped us to navigate through what was quite a challenging brief."
Charlotte Wright. Director, Head of London Marketing, Savills.
