I have worked with Joe Patridge while on a placement with Project Birmingham in the editing of videos for the company ‘Enploy’.
Enploy is a company which performs test to measure your level of aptitude on: proactivity, creativity, emotional intelligence, leadership, self-efficacy, opportunity recognition and risk taking.
Joe Patridge have filmes all interviews, and I have edited them together.
My task was to edit the interviews and sync the audio from a multi-cam set up into a format that would turn the videos from a long monologue, into a dynamic performance. Because the talent was not reading from a script, I had to understand the core message before start any editing. The key for this project was to find the sound bites that were exciting to cut to. After working on this project, I conclude that having two cameras when filming interviews is imperative, as this would give the Editor more room to work around when the performer slips a word or two during the moment of the interview.
