ABOUT

Creating the collage animation for "The Kintsugi Circle" was a deeply transformative process, much like the therapy itself. Our journey began with extensive research into the Kintsugi method of therapy, which beautifully embraces the philosophy of finding value in brokenness and using it as a foundation for healing. Understanding that trauma can fracture our sense of self, we were inspired by how Kintsugi mends these fractures, symbolically turning scars into strengths.

We meticulously searched for the right assets, selecting imagery that resonated with themes of brokenness, healing, and transformation. Cutting out these elements was a delicate process, mirroring the care taken in the actual Kintsugi pottery repair. Each piece had to convey emotion and significance, fitting perfectly into the narrative.

Crafting the story frames involved weaving these visual elements into a cohesive, compelling narrative. We aimed to visually represent the journey from fragmentation to wholeness, emphasizing the beauty found in repaired imperfections. The animation process brought these frames to life, creating a dynamic flow that guides viewers through the healing journey.

Finally, selecting the appropriate music was crucial. We chose a score that echoed the emotional depth of the Kintsugi therapy, enhancing the visual storytelling and providing a soulful backdrop to the animation. The result is a piece that not only illustrates the Kintsugi method but also honors the resilience and beauty in overcoming trauma.
