Exploring the potential in internationalization of brocade & tartan.
I successfully developed small range of products promoting the traditional textiles of Scotland and Pakistan in new ways. I designed tartan scarves in colours representing each Province of Pakistan and brocade cushions according to Scottish market needs.
Brocade motif development was inspired by Timorous Beasties & traditional brocade. I explored various base weaves & warp & weft floats in motifs in Scottish colours on Jacquard loom. I used cotton, worsted & viscose yarns in brocade fabric.
Tartan was inspired by original tartan checks on colours of Pakistan from all four provinces. Developed on dobby in 2/2 twill weave in viscose warp & various weft yarns like paper, chinelle, boucle & shimmery. Photochoromic yarn was also used.
