About me

I am a Fashion and Lifestyle Journalism Masters graduate with a BA Hons degree in English and Creative Writing. I have an undying love for language and literature that has navigated me throughout my career and studies. I have cultivated my dedication to the written word to enable myself to build a successful career in the publishing industry as an editor. Whilst my English and Creative Writing Degree allowed me to study English literature in great depth and apply this knowledge to creating my own literature, my Masters studies required me to focus on the audience, the publishing market and develop a sound understanding of publications.

In September 2010 I completed and printed fifty copies of my own Arts and Lifestyle magazine as part of my MA. This involved deciding the magazine's audience, the economic make up of the magazine, the timeliness of the content and its originality. I sourced and created the entire content of the magazine, from the writing to the images. I recruited my own creative team, which consisted of a designer, a creative consultant, illustrators, two photographers and myself - who acted as the editor and creative director, whilst organising and liaising with interviewees and press offices. I believe the magazine to be one of my greatest achievements and the perfect demonstration of my capabilities as a journalist, an editor and my dedication to literature.

I am bright, lively and easy to get along with. I am highly organised with a systematic and thorough approach to my work. It is customary for me to work under pressure and to very tight deadlines and I thrive under both conditions. I am able to use my own initiative, direct my own projects and create my own schedules. Although working proficiently as an individual I am very much a people person and flourish working and interacting with others. I am an out of the box thinker and believe that my creativity allows me to be innovative in generic situations.
