About me
Hello,
My name is Avery Mitchell and I am a graphic designer and animator. Over the past five years I have worked for large corporations including Yahoo Sports and the NFL. During my time I created graphics for social media and worked closely with video producers and social media editors to create the most unique content in the sports world. I have experience creating a variety of animated graphics, static graphics and stop motion videos. Not only do I have experience creating social media graphics for a large corporation such as Yahoo, I've also worked for smaller start-ups such as SnackNation.
As the only graphic designer at SnackNation, I handled all requests including but not limited to, print and digital marketing materials, banner ads, emails, photography, and social media graphics. Each month I brainstormed creative concepts for over 30 Instagram posts and 15+ Facebook graphics. I was also in charge of the execution of these concepts including finding models, photographing them and adding any and all graphic elements. During my time at SnackNation, I have learned the importance of branding. Having experienced a rebrand in January of 2018 I was able to quickly adapt to a new style and brand messaging and make sure that all creative content was on brand. Working at a start-up like SnackNation also taught me the importance of time management and utilizing organizational programs such as Trello.
Over the past four years of my career, I have been dedicated to the creative field in multiple facets. I have had various internships and jobs in marketing, photography, and graphic design and believe I would be well-suited for this position.
As a social media designer and animator at the NFL, I was able to learn how to work under tight deadlines while still creating top-notch work. My first position at the NFL as a production artist and junior designer allowed me to learn the importance of flexibility and how to portray a brand's voice through my design. In my second season, I sought out a new and exciting opportunity to work on the NFL's Snapchat Discover Channel. Having never animated heavily before this position I was able to further refine my animation skills and push my creativity creating over 15 pieces of content as a team every day. This also gave me the opportunity to work with a variety of people including copywriters, video producers, art directors, and other animators/designers.
