ABOUT
Social media is everywhere in our daily lives. It’s used for jobs, schooling, meeting up with friends, sharing our work, sharing our lives and just existing (especially since the pandemic’s beginning). Social media has been reported widely to be devastating to people’s mental health: from small moments of anxiety to massive dips in depression. But where’s the opposing force? Is social media truly that bad, or could it be a cause for good against mental issues?
The bulk of my writing is split into four articles detailing each side of the argument plus context. I did this because I wanted to have an even debate between those who use social media and those who are supposedly against it. The first article helps to provide background for readers who might not know too much about the subject or want more information. This is then expanded in articles two and three to explain both sides of the debate, users and medical professionals. This allows readers to become more informed and make their own decisions based on the information at hand. With information about future developments also prepares people for what is coming next.
