Chalk in the Park is a newly launched cafe situated in Southwood Country Park Farnborough, Hampshire. It serves artisan food, coffee and drinks. Located in a beautiful countryside park, visited by families, dog walkers and everyone who enjoys walks in the Park.

I was asked to design a visual identity for the brand. The brief was to bring outside inside and incorporate greenery and nature surrounding us – trees, plants, and wildlife.

After a couple of rounds of attempts, squirrel became the mascot of the brand. I wanted to picture a happy, relaxed squirrel who stopped at the Chalk in the Park for a short and enjoyable coffee break like many cafe’s customers will do. If you look closer, you will notice she is really enjoying her cuppa.

For colour palette, we went with rich greens, neutrals, and yellow and warm red accents for the earthy, calm, and relaxed feel. Additional illustrations of flowers, edible mushrooms and wildlife were introduced to give more character to the brand. And a beautiful, vintage, elegant, classy brand was born.
