ABOUT

For my last year of studies, I have had to chose a project to work on for a year. As I always have been fascinated by taboos and difficult everyday life topics, I quickly decided to work on death.

Today in France, less than 8 percent of 20 year-old adults and older already wrote their testament. This is a worrying low percentage.
As we tend to accumulate more and more digital data, our legacy will obviously get transformed : today, it is mainly composed of material heritage but everything is getting blent together with new and various components. Our lives are changing and so are our deaths. What I really want to point out throughout this end-of-studies project is we need to modify our ancient vision of legacy, because legacy itself is changing. We need to understand how important it is to consider our own death and heritage.
The question which guides my project is : how to ritualize death preparation throughout daily digital life ?

My answer lays in a small connected object which reacts to your voice and collects your data regularly. It then cuts your digital heritage in personal pieces meant to go to each one of your relatives.
After your death, your loved ones will gather around to receive their digital heritage.
