KALOT Association – Our Passion is Adult Education!

The KALOT Association is a folk high school and adult education organization with deep roots and a living mission. Our work dates back to the first half of the 20th century: our founder, Jesuit priest Fr. Jenő Kerkai, launched the KALOT movement in 1935 with the goal of uplifting the most vulnerable social groups — especially rural and farming communities — through knowledge, community, and moral strength.

The present-day KALOT Association has been active again since 2004 in Csíksomlyó, thanks to the initiative of Fr. Imre András S.J. For more than twenty years, we have been serving adult learning, community building, and spiritual growth in Székelyföld and beyond.

Our mission is to contribute to shaping a more just and human-centered society — through communities made up of mature, authentic, and compassionate people.

At the heart of all our activities stands the human person: our goal is for participants to grow spiritually, intellectually, culturally, communally, and in their sense of vocation.
