ABOUT
As the official engineering provider for the London 2012 Olympic games, Atkins Global wanted an exhibition space in their central London office to celebrate their achievements.
Based on the key aspect of the job of converting a brownfield site into the lush green lands that an Olympics deserve, the 24th floor of Euston Tower was transformed into Atkins' own temporary park.
To achieve the park effect, Astroturf was laid throughout the floor and tree trunks were made using sheet wood. Phillippe Starck Bubble Club sofas, Flexible Love seating and deck chairs were used to add tactile seating areas.
As the Olympic park could be seen from the tower, a telescope honed in on the stadium was positioned by the east windows with key facts about Atkins' involvement included throughout.
