Casa Azul began with a big program: six bedrooms, formal and family spaces, two kitchens, a home theatre, gym, lift, staff areas and a substantial outdoor leisure zone, all within one private home in Sobha Hartland, Dubai.

The challenge was making a house of this scale feel connected rather than like a collection of separate rooms.

Our approach was to give the architecture a few clear ideas and carry them through the whole project: large openings, long views through the house, generous double-height spaces, a close relationship with the pool courtyard, and a limited material palette that could work from the exterior through to the interiors.
