Dear Team at the Cranberry Panda,

I am writing to you to apply for the position of a Photo Editor as advertised on your Website. I have attached my CV for your attention, so I can highlight my particular competencies to qualify for this position.

I have recently completed my studies at London College of Communication and the University of Westminster where I have been studying for a BA in Photographic Arts. During my studies I have developed visual practice, gaining experience in research processes as well as undertaking photographic projects including shooting and editing of the images, where I had to ensure good composition, professional lighting and consistency of images in particular series.

Apart from my communication and customer services skills (acquired during four years of call handling in the CareLine Services call-centre), I have the necessary technical skills to meet the requirements of the role, which I will outline below.

Editing Skills - Experience of working with a high volume of images:

I am proficient in sorting, rating and editing images into a concise and coherent edit that delivers the right message. I have developed my Editing/Editorial skills out of necessity, working as a 'second shooter' at events and as a wedding/editorial photographer, where speed and quality are essential.

Digital manipulation skills:

Apart from the necessary skill set to work quickly and proficiently in Adobe lightroom 3 and 4, I am also proficient in Adobe Bridge, Adobe Camera Raw and in Adobe Photoshop (CS4 - CS6), which I can use to do more advanced digital manipulation if required.

Other skills:

As well as my photographic skills I have background in IT and have understanding and necessary skills to setup and maintain a reliable work environment with regards to the securing of digital images for both PC and MAC computers. If needed, I would be happy to contribute in developing a workflow or 'best practice' for the handling of the digital images, taking into account the necessity of identifying the photographer and the visual information captured in the image as well as size and continued expansion of your image library.

I am confident that I have the necessary communication, technical and theoretical skills to be an effective member of your team and will deliver on your current and future requirements as a growing company.
