ABOUT

This collection is based around the theme of Islams influence in Sicily during the 12th century. I combined the idea of Christian women choosing to wear Arab clothes and henna as the concept and use this as a base around the collection. I enjoyed delving into the historical aspect of this theme and letting it influence various aspects of my collection. The shapes used in henna design and the architecture of churches/cathedrals still standing in Sicily today mainly inspired the prints.
