Rebel Icon – 2015 Fall Collection
The Rebel Icon melting’visual is loosely based on the french movie “La passion de Jeanne d’Arc” by Carl Theodor Dreyer, 1928. The temporary title for Rebel Icon was “Revolutionary interference” because i wanted to describe e medieval character, a warrior heroine, in a sort of dressing ceremony trying to deconstructing the concept of war and love. She’s preparing to make a war but the quote on screen at the very beginning flashes: “the best weapon to war is your love”. I like the idea of this kind of paradox: a strong girl during dressing ceremony who is preparing to war… but at the end you discover that she was only looking for love. The concept for Rebel Icon was born watching the clothing ritual in “Memoirs of a Geisha” by Rob Marshall. I wanted a very strong personality, a very iconic character, a great styling process (below the video all my studies and research for the make up artist, the stylist and the director) because in my vision the Rebel Icon was a very strong woman, perfectly in harmony with her strength. This movie was produced in Milan for CollateralFilm.
