Creating visual scamps and concept artworks for 'The Black History Book', a DK Knowledge - Penguin Random House project.
Collaborating remotely with the internal editorial team, my task was to generate ideas and visuals from editorial briefs and guidelines, to illustrate memorable quotations from key Black figures throughout world history. As this new book was to be part of a series, my final visual/artworks also needed to match the book series style. Once approved my artworks were then processed by the series illustrator before inclusion in the final page layout. 40 of the 99 illustrations, that appear in the book, I helped develop, several of which made it to the book jacket cover.
