Blood Cancer UK is a national cancer charity that campaigns for change, funds research, raises awareness and supports those affected by blood cancer.

With the end goal of communicating researcher’s findings to the government in the hope of shaping future government policy,

I was tasked with producing a 68-page report detailing the UK Blood Cancer Action Plan. This report needed to present data, explain various processes and tell countless stories from a variety of patients, doctors and consultants – all in a visually appealing, easy-to-digest manner.
This report was then presented at the House of Lords, along with accompanying placards and banners. With a social media campaign rolled out simultaneously.

Whether the government will fully implement the report’s recommendations for better blood cancer survival and care is yet to be seen, but Wes Streeting’s announcement in December 2024 of a National Cancer Plan is a step in the right direction and is influenced by elements of the BCAP campaign.
