I created a video for the Smashing Pumpkin's song Zero as part of a university project. Our brief was to explore the negative and positive aspects of advancing technology. I decided to focus on developing weapons and nuclear war as my negative topic. Unbeknown to me, Smashing Pumpkins had recently taken down their music video for Zero down from Youtube, so my video became the video fans went to! As a result it has over 900,000 views and was recently shared on HMV's website in an article on the Smashing Pumpkins.

I used archive footage of atomic bomb tests along with film taken in the Afghanistan war. It also featured a Civil Defence film released in America in the 1950s, famous for its 'Duck and Cover' message.
