The Unofficial Guide to Obstetrics and Gynaecology is part of the award-winning 'Unofficial Guide to Medicine' series of illustrated textbooks and is the second book to be published in the new style.

The brief was to evolve and adapt the design newly created for The Unofficial Guide to Paediatrics, to establish a friendly and contemporary, yet authoritative new generation of books in this unique, peer-led publishing model.

The design features bold and playful chapter graphics and vibrant flat colour coding, to give a fresh and approachable look and feel to the serious content. The popular 'crawling baby' flip animation, which first appeared in the Unofficial Guide to Paediatrics, makes a second appearance. It is intended that the contemporary styling reflects the personalities of both collaborators and users alike.

The textbook is divided into three sections: Gynaecology, Obstetrics and Careers and features section icons for clear and intuitive navigation through this large 800+ page textbook. The chapters within each section are colour-coded with vertical tabs running down the right page edge to provide clear topic signposting.

The Unofficial Guide to Obs & Gynae is recommended reading for undergrads and postgrads who are studying and working on the wards. Succinct chapter summaries supply the core knowledge required for medical school finals and medical career beyond. The Knowledge is then tested and expanded with multiple choice questions and fully explained answers.
