Flamin Nora is a fem blog discussing menopause - an often seismic event that affects women as they get older but which is frequently hidden beneath jokes and embarrassment.
I was briefed to create an ID with bags of attitude, that would speak to women of all ages, in order to bring this subject out into the light.
I designed the character 'Flamin Nora' to channel the idea of heat and attitude experienced by women in the menopause. Nora's pink fiery hair and wry knowing smile says 'C'mon girls, we're in this together and empowered'. Nora's significance stretches beyond her function as a mascot - she produces a universally recognisable identity and manages to link the viewer and concept on an emotional level.
