ABOUT

The idea of movement documentation using the basketball grids and players key moments out of a game was an indication to my final major project.

Deriving shapes and elements out of basketball Grid out of players key moments enable me to explore and experiment with Patterns and Alphabets. The result was the identity of the world cup in China as my final outcome.

The inspiration behind the logotype comes from basketball movements. For that event, a custom typeface was developed.

Different types of plays like: “Man to Man” “Zone Plays” “Inbound Plays” where used to extract each letter and create a typeface dedicated to this Sport.

The result was a logo that is contemporary and bold and communicates movement. The Use of animation to mimic simple basketball movements gave a fresh look to the project.

Animation Is an important part of this project and that is why this identity is focusing more on the digital aspect of this brand and the live coverage of this event from the internet.

Opening Sequences in screen size will be illustrated to support the digital streaming of the word Cup by providing relevant information but also introducing various basketball elements on the background.

Typography is used as a key visual element in this brand that allows to clearly demonstrate the animations and the interactions with the logo.
