Dear Sir/Madam,

I am thrilled to be given the opportunity to apply for a job at your agency. I am a talented, dynamic and skilled designer with two years' experience in the architecture/design industry and a recent Postgraduate Diploma in Architecture.

My experiences in architectural practice, along with my master's level qualification, have given me the tools to thrive in the design industry. Architecture has trained me to think creatively and to quickly develop innovative and original concepts exemplified in beautiful drawings, concise documents and engaging presentations that I can confidently pitch to large groups of people. A large part of studying architecture involves producing exhibition style layouts and images to be able sell ideas and convince people of the design. During six years of architectural education I have strengthened my communication skills, both visually and verbally, and have developed a strong instinct and vision for aesthetic. I am fastidiously attentive to detail, have an inherent understanding of colour, balance and composition and can bring originality as a designer to your agency. Working in architectural practice has also given me the necessary project management skills to see a design through to completion, as I have a good understanding of the design process and the demands of the creative industry. I also have previous experience in the exhibition sector as I have been involved in producing banners, flyers, brochures and documents for public consultation exhibitions. I have strong computer skills, especially in Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator and areas such as social networking and 3D design. I am also highly self-motivated, able to work independently and to meet tight deadlines.

I am especially interested in your agency, as the process involved in promoting cutting edge brands is one that I thoroughly enjoy. Researching the brand to be able to fully understand it and then applying this knowledge to all aspects of design is a method that I am very familiar with due to its similarity with the projects undertaken in my architectural studies. My creative skills combined with my ability to organise, plan and communicate will enable me to contribute immediately and in the longer term to the agency's success. I believe l have the experience and ability to tackle the demands of this fast paced industry and that I will make a valuable contribution to your design team as I have fresh and innovative ideas and strong design skills.
