The Brief:
To create an identity for the DBA's portal The Design Community Hub, which provides a digital platform for professionals across the design world to give their time, knowledge and expertise – supporting the talented graduates and design professionals whose careers have been affected by the pandemic. To keep the industry alive, for a more creative future.

The concept for the identity was to reflect the variety within the industry; an expressive typographic approach designed to to represent the eclectic, diverse and contemporary talent of the young designers. This is visualised through type that takes inspiration from traditional letterpress design, married with contemporary typographic expressions. The maruqe indicates the coming together of all types of people; showcasing a sense of unity, evident within community itself.

The logo needed to work across long and narrower formats, as well as in icon form to work within limited dimensions and social media avatars. This resulted in 3 variations: long form, stacked and short form icon.
