Hello,

I am a single professional who has invested heavily in their career, working and living both in the UK and in Germany (Hamburg and Stuttgart). British by birth, I have a German mother and Indian father, so am culturally aware and sensitive. It is these qualities that have helped me to adapt to a number of different roles and environments, always able to fit in, find common ground and make sure that the job gets down with the minimum of fuss.

The different roles range from website researcher to translator via editor, proofreader, advertising assistant and office administrator. Please feel free to try me out. You will find that I really am as adaptable, able to work on my own and as part of a team as I say I am!

Skills

I am British by birth but am bilingual German/English as I have a German mother. This has led to many years experience as a language specialist, ranging from translator to website researcher and editor/proofreader. The key skills throughout my career have been the flexibility to adapt to different environments and teams, high level language skills, including an eye for detail, and an interest in IT/willingness to improve my level of computer literacy. My high level computer skills inlcude Mac literacy, knowledge of InDesign publishing software and Adobe Acrobat Professional, used to annotate PDFs., In my role as a medical proofreader for Bristol-Myer Squibbs I gained experience of working in a design and production team in a highly regulated field and time-sensitive environment where deadlines for drug approval simply had to be met.

Sector Experience

Last year, a 6 month contract as a medical proofreader for Bristol-Myers Squibb. Here, I was primarily tasked with ensuring that the promotional material for a drug for advanced melanoma was error free and ready for approval in the summer of 2011. , Most recently, freelancing as an experienced editor for the German version of Weight Watchers Magazine to support the team whilst the client awaited the return of its permanent editor.
