ABOUT
WhereScape provides data warehouse automation software, which is a confusing sequence of words the first time you read it. Essentially, they provide software that helps disparate data systems for large companies talk to each other. It's called RED.
The goal was to get a DM for RED past the gatekeepers and in front of targeted CFOs - the kinds of people who would recognise the benefits it could offer their business.
We created a fake cover for the business section of the New Zealand Herald, the largest national newspaper in New Zealand, with the name and face of the CFO and an article recognising his contribution to his particular business. The catch: his success was due to his decision to implement WhereScape RED.
The tone was to be somewhat journalistic in keeping with the feel of the NZ Herald, but the irreverence of the idea also conveyed the WhereScape company culture – that of an innovative tech company who weren’t afraid to rattle a few cages.
