Grand Central was briefed by premium bar snack specialists Made for Drink to create standout packaging for the launch of their new product: Mr Trotter’s Pork Scratching Flavoured Crisps. The goal was to introduce an entirely new concept to market — a flavour-forward snack that bridges the gap between traditional pork scratchings and crisps — while reinvigorating the visual identity of the much-loved Mr Trotter character.We were challenged to modernise the packaging design and bring to life the product’s proud British heritage, bold flavour, and the brand’s long-standing reputation for quality and wit.Inspired by classic pub snacks, British iconography, and Mr Trotter’s signature charm, we developed a confident and character-led pack that feels premium, punchy, and immediately recognisable on shelf. Our approach combined playful illustration, rich colour palettes and strong pack architecture to deliver a versatile design that will allow for future range expansion.The result is packaging that balances nostalgia with modernity — built to cut through in-store, flex across formats, and capture the attention of snack lovers across the UK. Since launch (April 2025), the crisps have been listed in major retailers, nationwide pubs and have gained national press coverage, including features in Scottish Grocer, Trend Hunter, Larder Magazine and Convenience Store.
