At the start of the year, myself and the team from Surridge met with Mansfield Town to discuss new kits and training wear for the 2020/21 season. We brought our latest fabrics and swatches, along with some initial designs, and determined that we wanted to work with a modern, geometric playing kit and something a bit 'different' for training. With the away shirt I wanted to bring in the clubs amber Pantone for accents whilst using a contrasting colour for the main. After sampling colours, the club decided on a navy, which we had to make sure could be consistent throughout the shirt, short and sock. Once we had a colour and kit, we worked on the training wear and brought in navy/amber to match. From the latest batch of fabric samples we had, we decided to work with a camo design which would run through all garments, from training t-shirt to training shorts. Each garment features a different use of camo, for example the t-shirt is made completely from a lightweight camo fabric whereas the shorts only have a side panel. We did this to ensure that the design didn't overpower the collection and ultimately look clean on the pitch and attract fans to buys as well.
