ABOUT

Messa is a food delivery company created in 2020 as a response to the market need for on-demand food and grocery delivery in second-tier cities and rural areas of Colombia. These areas had very low coverage by other delivery apps and we identified a potential market with high income and large demand.

Messa is by far the most ambitious project I have been involved in. I was honoured to be hired as the manager of the company, leading over 30 professionals from designers, developers, business developers, marketing, lawyers from different specialities, working with industry experts and a board of directors to develop and grow the project.

As the project manager and later CEO of the new company, I had to oversee all the processes and stages of the development, starting from the naming and brand creation, to the construction of the set of terms and conditions and regulations that would enable the company to perform in compliance with the Colombian law.

Additionally, the board assigned me as the CTO and head of data, thus expanding my areas of responsibility to fully overseeing a team of 12 FE, BE, and full-stack developers in the app development. Furthermore, as the head of data, I worked with data analysts, scientists, architects, and engineers in the creation of our data infrastructure and in ensuring a data-driven mindset for any decision-making company-wide.

Throughout this project, I have had valuable opportunities to experience many new and increasingly complex challenges. I am very grateful to have a highly skilled team that has been able to rise to the occasion and overcome all of them.
