About me
I am currently in my final year at University of Westminster,
Media & Communications course, from which I will be graduating in
early May. My studies provided me with the necessary multimedia skills
in order to thrive in a digitally driven organisation as well as with
the possibility to engage in PR and editorial tasks. In order to
amplify my knowledge of cultural project development, I have been
offered a place for a Masters Degree in Cultural Studies at Goldsmiths
University London, Lund University Sweden and University of Amsterdam,
however I have decided to postpone this decision and immerse myself in
practical work with a suitable job that will stimulate my creativity
and entrepreneurial skills alike.
My main interest has always been in the cultural sector and how it can
be blended with commercial interests so as to foster a creative
working environment. Because I have already undertaken a few
internships in the creative field, I realised this is what I would
like to do for the rest of my life, with a long-term ambition to
create a cultural hub where arts and commerce converge in order to
enhance social innovation. I am constantly attending cultural
workshops, talks and networking events in London which inspired me to
pursue a similar path in the field. Inspired by projects such as the
Tuttle club, NESTA and TEDx, I believe a successful type of management
and marketing is based on open communication channels, balanced on-
and off-line cooperation and receptivity to original ideas.
I have a strong background in event production, as I am currently an
event coordinator for an arts & music festival in Transylvania,
Romania. I am also a crucial member of the PR and marketing team,
coordinating the festival promotion physically and across online media
via our website, Twitter, Facebook, and other festival-related
websites. In the period preceding and following our event we are
devising budget schemes, production tools and third party liaison, as
well as harnessing valuable data, researching our public's behaviour
and reaction to certain promotional tools, increasing participation
through newsletters, campaigns, social media etc. In addition, during
the festival I am constantly supervising the overall progression of
the events, making sure briefs are met and that our volunteers are
keeping good track of their duties. You will also notice other
relevant experience that I have undertaken, including radio
production, internships at the Romanian Cultural Centre in London, at
a music booking agency etc.
I possess great leadership aptitudes, as well as the ability to work
within a team and coordinate its members in a friendly, yet firm
manner. My communication skills are excellent, developed both as a
media student and through other jobs I undertook in England, as well
as in my home country. The projects I got involved in both
individually and as part of my course enabled me to gain thorough
experience in pro-sociability and emotional intelligence so as to
engage in dynamic conversations and preserve a pleasant environment.
Additionally, I have a genuine passion for the arts which is revealed
through my constant visits at London's artistic hubs, as well as my
work and activity as a blogger and media curator. Furthermore, I have
a keen interest in arts management, as you can deduct from my
experience in this field. I am a highly organised and literate person
and I believe this job opportunity will provide an excellent working
environment and experience which I can eventually incorporate further
in my Masters studies.
If you learn I am a suitable candidate, don't hesitate to get in
touch, I look forward to receiving your reply.
