ABOUT

This project was my first self-directed project and was carried out in my second year of university. The project helped me explore possible routes for my final project in year three. We had the opportunity to use all of the university workshops/facilities allowing us to gain confidence and learn new skills and experiment with new techniques.
I based this project on my five closest friends. The aim was to see what their daily lives consisted of and to find out if they had anything in common. I conducted several questionnaires and from the results made the decision that I was going to design a more fun way of making a cup of tea or coffee.
‘Tea or Coffee?’ is a kit that includes comes with a personalised cup, a set of three measuring jugs and a double-sided spoon along side a recipe card which gives you instructions to make the individual their perfect cup of tea/coffee .
By simply following the diagram you are able to see if it is a tea recipe from the inclusion of a square, see how much water someone takes by the different lines, see the amount of milk needed by looking at the coloured circles (the colour of the circles matches the colour of the jugs) and finally the spoon provided is double ended depending on the amount of sugar required.
I made a kit for each of my participants. Each one came with its own cup, a set of three jugs, a spoon and a recipe card.
