The project I did during my final year studying in University for Creative Arts. The story of "Forgotten Summer" is about two people who fell in love on a warm august day in the middle of Town Hall Square in Riga 1939, a week before Second World War.
Overall I spent approximately 3 month on this project, including designing the concepts and writting he script. Since I worked alone I had to work on everything: modeling, rigging, animating and compositing. Since my film is quite long and time was running out, I had to work quickly and strictly control my time management. For example, "Forgotten Summer" turned out to be very stylistic, with the simplest shaders to save time on rendering. mostly I was using Autodesk Maya and Adobe Premiere for compositing. Adobe After Effects was also used for some special effects and motion graphics.
In the result I am quite happy with my film, and I think it manages to deliver the special feeling that I have for that time, people and their lives.
