India’s first trains were a generous gift from the intelligent minds of the British. Or so they want you to believe. The lesser popular truth is that the Empire used the trains to scam Indians into transporting precious raw materials for cheap prices from the interior of the country and forced them to buy the finished goods. In this artful way, they created a perfect cyclical economy benefiting only them. We have explored this propaganda in our project in the medium of lazer cut installation and cut out animation.
