Ana Beatriz Fernandes Branding Designer

ABOUT

Brief
Bela da Manteiga is a family-owned brand which produces homemade almond, hazelnut and chocolate butter.
Working closely with the client, we were appointed to develop the branding concept and strategy, to come up with the name and to design the visual identity and packaging for the product.

Solution
In Portugal, nut butter brands are geared towards sports & fitness led audiences. To set ourselves apart, we chose to appeal to the family market and create a product that would appeal and delight parents and children.
The name had to be playful and catchy whilst being descriptive of the product. Bela da Manteiga came as a twist on a common Portuguese idiom.
The visual identity is light and fun, featuring different characters that showcase the benefits of almond and hazelnut butter.
The packaging is bold and simple, focusing on the content of the product and featuring the bright brand colours in contrast to the less vibrant butter tones.
Following the thread of playfulness, we directed and photographed (at home, during lockdown!) the product photos against different settings for social media use.
