ABOUT
Nephilim Magazine is an open-genre publication, featuring the best in beauty, fashion, art, and geek culture. While we do produce some content for web and print, most of Nephilim is made up of exclusive content contributed by exceptional creative talent from all over the world. We are based out of Lancaster, NY in the United States, but our team and core contributors are part of a worldwide creative network.
While we do get a huge thrill out of publishing celebrities and high-profile talent, it is our primary mission to shine a spotlight on unknown talent such as gorgeous and creative people who would otherwise remain in the shadows, forever trapped in hobbyist limbo. And who wants that? That being said, unlike many other new indie magazines on the rise, we are here for the international community. We are as far from elitist as you can get and we have a zero-nepotism rule where it comes to our rules and accepting submissions. We offer an equal chance for everyone to be featured, regardless of sexual identity/orientation, faith, lifestyle, or even political allegiances, even in times of war. In fact, some of the best work we’ve received has come from Russia as well as the Middle East.
Unlike most independent beauty and fashion publications, we have high-end quality standards. For example, all portraits must show pristine and evenly textured skin, limited cross-over and flyaway hairs, well-defined, and no noise. Unedited and poorly edited photos will not be accepted for publication. If you lack the skills to process photos to these standards, contact a pro retoucher. Among those we recommend are Pratik Naik, Salden Eltagonde, Big Bad Red of Flex Dreams, Hartmut Nörenberg, and of course, our very own resident portrait photo retoucher and creative manipulator, Amelia Wysocki.
Nephilim Magazine was founded in late 2017 by Creative Director and Social Media Marketing Specialist, Amelia Wysocki, is based out of Lancaster, NY, and Amelia is assisted by Amy Monks (Social Media Director).
We began our run as a Facebook-based blog and then began publishing print-issues with the intention of continuing as a bimonthly publication, but the print-issue age is just about dead. It’s far more work and achieves far fewer results. While it may be more glamorous, it’s really not worth it anymore. Focusing more on content rather than editorial design, we can produce far more and in far less time. While we will continue publishing 2-3 print issues per year, we are mainly a web-based publication now.
Your contributions, upon approval, will be published on our website as web content and then shared among our social media pages. This includes photos, artwork, video, music, and articles. The best of the content we’ve received up until that point will be chosen for print publication as kind of a “best of” showcase. Now that content will not be held back for print publication anymore, we will finally be able to showcase more content than ever before. For this reason, we are actively seeking contributing writers. We seek articles on beauty, fashion, art, and pop-culture related topics as well as steady reviews of film, television, and music. Apply today!
