About me

In my career to date I have gained experience in both production and post production. I am currently looking for my next opportunity to build on my transferable skills in a new and challenging environment.

I have just finished covering a maternity leave for ITN as an administrator to the researchers (ITN Source and ITN News), sales and customer services (UK, Paris, USA and Australia), vaults (content delivery team) and MFT (technical team). My main duties involved creating and maintaining their rosters, processing their annual leave requests and sickness, booking freelance cover and processing their timesheets, maintaining stationary and pantry supplies (keeping to a budget) and producing spreadsheets and reports at management's request..

Before ITN I gained experience as a production coordinator for Sky television, where I worked for over two years. I coordinated the electricians, scenehands and technical operators working on the news, sports and other programmes across 7 studios. It was my responsibility to make sure that all the pre-recorded and live shows were crewed with the correct staffing levels from my teams. I also covered with freelance where necessary and processed the freelance costs on a weekly basis.

Prior to Sky I worked as a production assistant on a feature called Bad Day and before that on various different short films. During my time on Bad Day I was heavily involved in the organisation of the shoot specifically regarding the cast as I was their main point of contact.

I gained my post production experience from working at Technicolor and Ascent Media in the earlier part of my career. At Technicolor I was responsible for the QCing of tapes before they were despatched. At Ascent Media I was a runner and an assistant tape librarian. During this time I was able to get a great overview of a Broadcast environment. In the library my main duties were to pull tapes at the promo producer's requests and for the TX suites and also to get format transfers processed for the channel coordinators.
In my spare time I enjoy being creative. I have attended two Raindance courses, one on filmmaking and one on script writing, and am now working on my own script idea. I've also completed an online journalism course and am now writing film critiques for *and *. I also enjoy many artistic activities such as screen printing, making jewellery and cross stitching.
