ABOUT
Advertising agency TBWA\LONDON have asked me on several occasions to produce storyboards and idea visuals for their pitches to clients such as McDonald’s and AirBnB.
TBWA\London asked me to create several storyboards for their pitch to McDonald’s, who required ideas for a TV advertising campaign for the 2020 Japan Olympics. Each storyboard uses the theme of Japanese paper craft, origami. These child-like origami characters explain the McDonalds’ competition, where they ask people to submit messages of peace and goodwill to win tickets to the 2020 Olympics.
The first four samples are from a storyboard showing an origami girl enjoying different events and ceremonies from the Olympics. Towards the end she explains how the viewer can enter the McDonald’s competition.
The next four samples are from another “origami world” storyboard, which features origami children from different countries, sharing their messages of peace and goodwill. These messages are showing examples of what the viewer could submit to the competition for their chance to win tickets to the 2020 Olympics.
The next four images are from another storyboard depicting an “origami world”, where brother and sister characters are in a McDonald’s. The brother explains to his sister (who is constantly berating him with “why?” questions) that he is thinking what to write for his message of peace and goodwill, for his submission for the McDonald’s competition.
For a separate pitch, I was asked to draw the storyboard for their pitch to AirBnbB. The concept was to playfully depict different animals in unusual and unlikely habitats.
