We are pleased to announce that our client The Saucy Fish Co. has been voted the number one seafood brand in the world.
The Grimsby based ‘CoolBrand’ was judged against 19 other leading seafood brands from across the world, including Young’s, Trident, Bumble Bee, Gorton’s and Iglo as part of the IntraFish Seafood Branding Report 2016.
Branding experts from revered US food marketing organisation, The Food Group, analysed 20 of the top consumer seafood brands to measure the strength of each. Each brand was scored on their branding, logo, digital presence and website. Saucy Fish was the clear winner, scoring highest in all but one of the categories.
Amaze is The Saucy Fish Company’s lead agency, responsible for PR, digital marketing and social media as well as design and build of the web site and online shop. Their integrated strategy focuses on the creation of high-quality, yet simple, visual-led content that is as relevant and entertaining to fish lovers as it is to those who’re a little unsure of where to start. The agency team was responsible for the roll out of the brand’s hugely successful new online shop, which launched in November 2015, and also helped the brand win awards for their ‘School of Fish’ pop up restaurant.
On The Saucy fish Co.’s branding, one of the judges said: “This company stands out against all the rest – great branding, simple and straight forward.” Another commented: “It's a fun brand with a laid back tone of voice that is welcoming. You get the sense that the people involved in the company are doing what they love and are inviting the customer along. Their responsibility content feels the most authentic.”
Speaking about thesaucyfishco.com and the brand’s recently introduced online shop, which achieved an exceptional score of 4.96, judges commented: “Definitely the most modern website of the group; very consumer friendly, very hip but also very informative.”
The Saucy Fish Co.’s Sales and Marketing Director, Amanda Webb, said: “It’s an honour to be recognised as the number one seafood brand in the world. We’re still a relatively young company as we’ve only been around for six years, so we’re thrilled to have scored so well against other well established brands that have been trading for decades.
“The whole team at Amaze continues to power ahead and their energy and imagination comes across in the way they create content about fish. They manage to balance the ambitions of our brand with topics that consumers really care about. The success of The Saucy Fish Co. brand is a testament to the dedication of everyone involved, so it comes as no surprise to say Team Saucy is over the moon!
Samantha Jones, Head of PR at Amaze said: “We’re delighted that our favourite brand is a favourite with the judges too. We’ve been on a mission to help cooks unite around a passion for fish. We strive to make the brand communication as much a part of its appeal as the simplicity of the product. The team goes out of its way to make sure Saucy customers hear the same authentic voice every time they come into contact with the brand and we delight in helping put a smile on people’s faces with our playful approach.”
In the six years since launch, The Saucy Fish Co. have changed the way millions of Brits think about fish and are now emulating this success overseas, with most recent listings in Publix and Wholefoods in the US.
