ABOUT

Branding & Annual Report

Engineers Without Borders is a charity that wants to change how we inspire young people to become engineers, how our future engineers are educated and how practicing engineers can apply their skills to make a positive contribution. Their primary target market are high school students as well as those already studying and practising.

Engineers Without Borders already had an existing identity, but it was poorly designed and felt apologetic in its appearance. That said, the charity wanted to retain certain characteristics of their brand, namely the ‘lightbulb’ element, so it was imperative for me to evolve rather than completely redesign the identity.

With the charity’s target market in mind, I gave the logomark a contemporary new look and incorporated bold typography, in upper case, to instill confidence to its appearance. The use of an earthy colour palette adds a fun and slightly organic edge to the brand.

Illustrations were also created, to help convey important information in an appealing and digestible fashion.
