ABOUT

Film - My First Love

A love story depicting the Royal Enfield (RE) motorcycle – Film REvisited is a collection of work that features the 1942 "Bullet 500" an old classic bred in Britain. My inspiration was to emulate film director 'Alfred Hitchcock' who appeared in every film he ever directed. Similarly, I placed the RE into each of my hand-picked locations, (scenes that convincingly resemble the 1942 era); sometimes as the hero others, understated and often difficult to find in my photograph (Hitchcock proved just as elusive when he made his 'walk-on' appearances...) This collection of limited edition black&white handprints will be exhibited at various galleries in Tuscany and Seravezza (LU), Italy.
This is my own photographic 'treatment' and a 'need' to return to shooting on B&W film –– my dear friend, Mark Baldwin, copywriter, creative guru and field marshal spearheaded the creative 'direction' and kept me in focus, food and fine wine.

Technical:
ProPhoto AirS portable lighting was used to achieve 'working-aperture' and as ‘fill-in’ light.

Shot with KODAK Tri-X Film / the camera a Nikon F5 –– black & white handprints are by, Master Printer, Dennis da SILVA – Alternative Print Workshop, Johannesburg. South Africa.
