AlphaSights only recruit around 0.5% of all applicants who apply for our Associate positions and Graduate Programme every year to ensure we have a team of the most talented young people in the world. Statistically the best candidates are ones who have been referred to us by existing or former employees and we wanted to utilise that talent stream better than in the past.
The in-house design team were tasked to come up with a new campaign idea that would encourage AlphaSights alumni to refer more of their friends and peers to apply for jobs with us. The concept we eventually settled on was an idea based around the old adage that successful people surround themselves with other successful, talented people. We then thought about a person's professional network and how today we're all connected to so many people, which felt like an interesting idea to build upon. Visually we were also inspired by photographic montage effects we'd previously seen used, where a single image was created out of hundreds of others. From there it didn't take long to develop a scalable idea that not only looked great, but also featured real-life alumni. This final point helped install a sense of pride for those alumni featured and (we hope) will incentivise them to promote AlphaSights to their wider network more enthusiastically than they might have otherwise.
The first phase of the campaign was successfully launched in August 2022 on our social media channels and with targeted emailing immediately generating an uplift in referrals. We plan to continue adding new alumni to the campaign over the coming months and create new and engaging static and motion content to keep awareness high amongst our alumni network throughout the recruiting season.
