The goal of the project was to provide a technology and platform that would allow better planning and management of patient needs to surgical and support staff. Our role in this project was focused on research and mapping workflows. To provide this, we undertook a series of interviews, workshops and conversations with theatre staff (surgeons, nurses, anaesthetists) and support staff (hospital managers, medical secretaries etc).

Our goal was to understand current workflows, patterns, data exchanges, software used and the problems with all of the above. We used this insight to inspire role playing by the Alloy team to examine how the system, process and service could be improved.
