The Jalsa Ghar, an Indian restaurant in Great Dunmow, needed to revive their logo and menus but wished to keep the basic elements which their customers were already so familiar with. An identity which stood out and reflected the culture of the cuisine was essential. I added a contemporary twist to make an instant impact. By creating a decorative style reflective of Alpanas to enhance the logo (a folk art native to Bangladesh in which patterns are created on the floor in living rooms or courtyards using materials such as coloured rice, dry flour, coloured sand or flower petals) I created a positive and dynamic finish.
