Making The Shade is a short BTS documentary following the making of 'Made in the Shade', a short film directed by me. We wanted to show the ups and downs of making a short film at university.

The execution resulted in several hours of footage that had to be meticulously edited down into a cohesive story that included interviews, cut-away footage and several 'fly on the wall' shots. I was involved in the planning and editorial stages, I was less involved in the actual shooting because a lot of the time I was the one being filmed.

The resulting piece is a comical, compelling look at what it takes to make a university short film on a budget. I couldn't be happier with the finished product.
